After a good nights rest and a breakfast of the usual cheese and bread, we decided to head out and explore what palamos ahd to offer during the day. As we left the flat the realisation dawned on us that we did not have the keys. After consulting with the Senors next door who seemed to be doing some kind of construction work with long ladders, we asked if we could borrow one to shimmy up to the top floor and get in from the balcony, they told us the ladders would not reach, we wandered into the town sat down to meals and beer from a restaurant and pondered our next step.

We didn't want to pay for a locksmith to get back into the flat and noone had a spare key. Following our conversation we went to an open hardware shop (A surprisingly hard thing to find at 4:30pm in a palamos afternoon) and bought 20 metres of high tensile rope, we would have bought 25 but the guy was being slow measuring it out so we decided 20 would be fine. We then ambled back to the flat and made our way to the roof accessible by stairs on the inside.

On the roof there is a sheltered cover of a service shaft, down the middle of the block, that all flats have small kitchen balconys in to. Dan's flat is top floor, sure we can do this. We tie one end of the rope to the mole and one to Lee. Then the mole proceeds in climbing through the moleyhole at the top of the shelter and we lower him down onto his balcony. Triumphant he collects the keys and lets us in.

Later we head out for THE GREAT PATAS ADVENTURE.
